Senate Pro-tempore election postponed

Public expectation has been high here that election for the Senate President Pro-tempore would have been today, Tuesday, January 13, 2015, but reports reaching The NewDawn say the election is postponed to Thursday, January 15 or probably next week Tuesday.

Reason for the delay is yet unknown, but there are indications from newly elected and incumbent senators that the prohibition at the Supreme Court involving three of their colleagues should be resolved before they go for election.

Deputy Police Director for Operations, Col. Abraham Kromah, has been seriously linked to obstructing justice in a vehicle theft case involving a man identified as Dalama Kromah.

Defendant Dalama Kromah, who is charged with theft of property, is reportedly a brother of the deputy police chief.

Police Investigate Gedeh Child’s Death

Police in Liberia’s Southern  Grand Gedeh County are investigating the death of a one year old child in Zwedru.

The child (name with held) was reportedly found hanging at the front of her parents’ shop in the city on Wednesday at 9 in the morning.
