UNDP empowers female motorcyclists

The United Nations Development Programme or UNDP-Liberia has embarked on a process of empowering female motorcyclists in the country.

UNDP says female motorcyclists need to be empowered to be able to compete with their male counterparts. The UN agency said the idea of empowering female motorcyclists is to buttress women's initiative in responding to some of the problems they face in the society.

Rep. Dakel challenges district #17 youths

Montserrado County district #17 Representative, Williams V. Dakel, has challenged youths in his district to be innovative.

Speaking over the weekend in Babyma Junction community in Brewerville when he inaugurated the Adrem Intellectual Forum, Rep. Dakel said, it’s time that young people look at ills of the society and bring them on the table for discussion rather than getting involve in violence.

Pres. Sirleaf lauds Swedish government

President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf has commended the Government of Swedish for its continued assistance to Liberia.

According to an Executive Mansion release, the Liberian leader made the commendation at her Foreign Ministry office in Monrovia when she met the Swedish Minister of International Development Cooperation, Ms. Isabella Lovin, accompanied by the Swedish Ambassador accredited to Liberia, Sofia Strand and a four-member delegation.
