The Youth in Stand for Humanity and Development Actions (YOSHUDEA) has strongly differed with the Federation of Liberian Youths or FLY on the appointment of Dr. Emmanuel Dolo as Youth Advisor to President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.
“As full institutional member of FLY, we are troubled by recent unilateral decision of few elected officials on the appointment of Dr. Dolo as youth advisor to the president. We quickly distance ourselves from such position and feel obligated to inform the young people and the general public that there was never a consultation held with institutional members to arrive at the so-called non-compliance posture.
"We must state that FLY is at all times consulting institutional members and soliciting their views on issues that affects their wellbeing,” according to a release issued in Monrovia under the signature of its Executive Director, Adolphus Kawah.
According to the press release, it is the considered opinion that the decision by a handful of elected official of FLY to wage battle of condemnation on the youth advisor’s appointment is highly personal and does not consider the supreme interest of the young people of Liberia.
“We are left to wonder as to how the young people of Liberia will benefit from such non-compliance of FLY. In our minds, non-compliance is neither the better nor the best approach to this matter. We seriously distance our institution from FLY’s position and in so far the proper procedure of consultation in so far employed in the interest of Liberian youths”, the statement said.
The group cautioned FLY that the approach thus far on this matter is arrogant and aggressive and has to be tamed constructively for the benefit of its constituents.
