As if Saturday, August 18, 2012 was the set day for driver Stanley Nagbe to face Police Director Christopher Massaquoi’s wrath, the motorist is said to have assaulted subordinate officer Anthony Dalieh in the presence of the police chief.

After the driver had assaulted Officer Dalieh who was directing traffic in the Sinkor area, he (the driver) attempted escaping from the scene, apparently without realizing that Director Massaquoi was on the spot and saw all that went on.

The police boss quickly carried out the arrest himself and charged the accused on multiple offenses – commercializing private vehicle, failing to yield to police instruction, and assaulting peaceful officer.

A dispatch by Police Spokesman George Bardue revealed that driver Nagbe assaulted officer Dalieh with his vehicle. He said the offenses are consistent with Sections 10.3 and 3.91 of the vehicle and traffic laws of Liberia.

Bardue said suspect Nagbe will be sent to court today, Monday, for prosecution. Notwithstanding, police did not report any injury sustained by the officer as a result of the incident.

It can be recalled that the police boss has repeatedly warned individuals against disrespecting men and women of the police service for executing law and order, while at the same time warning officers against violating citizens’ rights in the discharge of their duties.
