The International Monetary Fund (IMF) African Group Constituency Group One has elected Liberia’s Finance and Development Planning Minister Amara Konneh, as the new Chairman of the 24-member grouping for the next two years. Minister Konneh succeeds Malawi’s Finance Minister Goodall Gondwe.
The Congress for Democratic Change or CDC has been taken before the Supreme Court of Liberia by its embattled Chairman, George Solo. According to the court document, Chairman Solo is arguing the party’s constitution was grossly violated by some executive members only on the basis of removing him illegally as national chairman of the CDC.
