Lord, greed will imprison us all

Dear Father:

You know, there is this Chinese proverb that I always like to use-the reason for that is its moral lesson.

The proverb is in the form of a short story told of a people from a particular Chinese village who because of distrust among themselves took their treasures and hide it in a pit, with a small dragon placed at the entrance of the pit as the guard.

Lord, when the house don't sell you, the street will not buy you!

Dear Father:

It was one of our famous comedians, the late Flomo, who  often used this proverb in most of his dramas-that " if the house don't sell you, the street will not buy you". I know many will argue that this proverb has been around for a long time and indeed it has. But sometimes one must give credit to an individual who popularized  it in plays and dramas.

Lord, is that how we will run our village gov't?

Dear Father:

Um, why are these people giving this Paramount Chief so much hard time? The man in fact is a true patriot who has this village at heart. Dear Father:

You know,  since the Ebola outbreak in our village there are a few key phrases that have become very familiar if not overly used.  The book people would say broken down health system, public distrust of government, lack of infrastructure and corruption.  For the last grammar-corruption, is not new in our village and it is in fact an identification mark that distinguished us from the others.

Lord, Ebola really naked us oo

Dear Father:

You know, before this Ebola sickness could come to our village, people have always said how illiterate, arrogant and  foolishly stubborn  we were as a people but I didn't believe it. In some instances, I will get angry and even don't want to see the ground that person who described my village people in such a manner walk on, but Ebola has proven them right and put me in the wrong rather. Bluntly put, illiteracy, arrogance and upright foolish stubbornness have contributed to the rise in Ebola death in our village.
