32 Grabbed

Officers of the Liberia National Police (LNP) in RiverCess County on Sunday, April 33 arrested 32 suspected armed robbers.

They are reported to have arm-robbed a businessman identified as Nelson Cooper on April 20, 2012, while traveling from Monrovia to RiverCess County.

Police Spokesman George Bardue told reporters in Monrovia that Police were informed that unknown men armed with AK-47 rifles and pistols attacked victim Cooper around the Newzwen Community in Camp P. Central C. District and took away L$21,000.00, 5 grams of gold, some assorted goods and made escaped with the victim’s vehicle to an unknown destination.

According to cooper, he narrowly escaped into the bush and contacted his wife via mobile phone who later informed the police.

However, Bardue said the 32 suspected armed robbers are currently in police custody undergoing investigation in Cestos City, River Cess County.
