183 pass UL entrance

183 pass The New Dawn newspaper has reliably gathered that just 183 candidates have passed the State -run University of Liberia or UL entrance for the four year degree programs, while 1,132 candidates who did not completely pass to be admitted, will conditionally be enrolled to better their academic standing.

The source suggests that the 183 candidates who passed all subjects in the entrance are qualified for the four – year degree programs at UL.  The State University has seen series of mass failures by candidates sitting its entrance in recent years, worse of which came in 2013 when all 25,000 candidates were reported to have failed.

This paper gathered that for this year’s entrance, 8318 sat the entrance for the regular four year degree programs, the Sinje Technical and Vocational College program in Grand Cape Mount County and the College of General Studies which was initially referred to as Continuing Education Program.

The 1, 132 candidates, who will be allowed to conditionally enroll, will not be permitted to do full credits until they convince the university by making a pass in those subjects in which they failed during the entrance exam.

At least 16 candidates are said to have passed the entrance to be enrolled in the College of General Studies; while 287 candidates were also said to have passed to be admitted at the Sinje Technical and Vocational College. 56 of the candidates sitting the entrance for Sinje Technical and Vocational College will be admitted on provisional basis, the NewDawn’s source said.
