199 Ebola Cases in Nimba- Asst. Supt

Nimba County’s Assistant Superintendent for Development Teko Yorla has disclosed to our Bong County correspondent that there are 199 confirmed, suspected and probable Ebola cases of Ebola currently in the County. According to Superintendent Yorla, about 50 Ebola deaths have occurred in the County since the outbreak of the deadly virus.

He attributed the huge deaths, including probable and suspected cases, to the refusal of people to accept that the virus really exists. According to him, many Nimbaians, from the onset of the virus, seriously doubted Ebola, but were now accepting and following preventive measures as announced by health workers and experts.

Teko noted that local authorities of Nimba were exerting every effort in the fight against the deadly virus through the robust awareness process, emphasizing that at present there were several health workers from the County undergoing training in order to strengthen fight the virus. The Assistant Superintendent of Nimba County made the assertions recently in Gbarnga, Bong County.
