2 mobbed to death in Ganta

Two unidentified men believed to be ages 23 and 25 respectively have been reportedly mobbed to death in Ganta, Nimba County. The victims were found dead early Wednesday, July 15, 2015.

The NewDawnNimba correspondent said the victims were seen lying in pool of blood with bruises on their bodies. Residents of Ganta, who had gone to view the bodies, described the deceased as notorious criminals from the Congo community in Ganta. According to community residents, the men might have gone to steal in Blegay-town community in Ganta where they were allegedly mobbed to death.

No arrest has been made in connection with the death of the individuals whose lifeless bodies were left lying in the grass near Blegaypa Town Junction in Ganta. Other residents said the victims might have gone to look for money to dress their girlfriends’ hair for the July 26 Independence Celebration when they met their demise. Local authorities, including police and the county administration have done nothing to remove the corpses.

Prior to the latest incident, a 26-year-oldman identified as Adam Dolo was severely flogged in the LPMC Community in Ganta where he had allegedly gone to steal a motorbike. Dolo is said to be in critical condition, receiving medication at a local clinic in Ganta.

Mob violence is common in Nimba, particularly Ganta where at least five persons have become victims in less than a month. Recently, angry residents chased and mobbed a suspected criminal in Kakata, Margibi County, killing him instantly. By Franklin Doloquee, Nimba – Editing by Jonathan Browne
