3 dead, several injured in crash


At least three persons reportedly died and several others injured in a tragic motor accident that occurs along the Gbarnga-Monrovia Highway.


On Sunday night 7 January around 10:00 PM, a brown right- handed drive Toyota Temperlite pickup with license plate A54476 instantly crashed under a packed truck with license plate FST 717XC .

The accident took place in a town called Buchanan Farm Junction in Cinta Township, Margibi County. The crash led to the death of the pickup driver only identified as Jr., including an unidentified woman and her son. Several other individuals sustained injuries.

An eyewitness, who claims he was on the scene, explains that the vehicle was heading for Monrovia from Lofa County where occupants onboard had gone to bury a family member when the three meet their sudden death.

Report says the truck had been packed along the road for almost one week prior to the incident, occupying about four feet of the main road.

The owner of the commercial truck from the Republic of Ghana Abu Raza, confirms that the vehicle had encountered a breakdown for almost one week, but regrets the lives lost as a result of the crash. Police in the county are investigation the accident.
