5 mysterious deaths in Nimba

At least five people have reportedly committed `suicide in Kpain Township, Nimba County. The incident occurred over the weekend.

According to Commissioner William T. Whenda, who spoke with The NewDawn correspondent in Nimba, no reason has so far been provided for the act, and there has been no arrest.

Mr. Whenda said since he took office as Commissioner of Kpain Township, this is the first of its kind for sequence suicide to occur in the town, taking five lives in less than two days.

He identified the victims as Thomas Gweh, 32; Carvin Winnie, 28; Big-Girl Tokpah, 18; and Eric Weezey,42. The fifth victim was only as identified T. Boy.

Meanwhile, Commissioner William Whenda has disclosed that 18-year-old Big Girl Tokpah and her husband were in confusion prior to the incident.  He said the deceased had made efforts to achieve a common ground with her man. A brother of one of the victims (Eric Weezey) Nya Weezey was a cook for the country devil, but escaped and left Eric on the job only to get the news that his brother  committed suicide.

The situation has created panic among residents of Kpain Town with many said to be living in fear.
