Cuttington University in Suacoc, Bong County last weekend graduated more than five hundred students in various academic and professional disciplines from its graduate school in Monrovia, under-graduate program in Suacoco and Associate degree program in Kakata, Margibi County.
The Cuttington Graduate School in Monrovia produced one hundred and forty-four of the five hundred with Master’s Degrees in various academic disciplines, while four hundred and eighty-five received Bachelor of Arts Degrees from the Undergraduate program.
The University’s Junior College in Kakata, Margibi County graduate forty students with Associate of Arts Degrees, while fourteen students receives certificates in Peace and Development, and Peace Studies from the Institute of Peace Studies at Cuttington University. Dr. Vuyu K. Gotokai, 1961 a candidate for Bachelor of Science Degree in theology, was also awarded his BSC after he was ‘denied’ graduation 52 years ago.
This year’s 52nd Commencement Convocation has been described as the best in terms of organization, structure and coordination, among the last four commencement convocations.
The Executive Governor of the Central Bank of Liberia or CBL, Dr. J. Mills Jones, accompanied to Cuttington University by his wife, representatives of “civil society” organizations and an array of media practitioners, served as the 52nd Commencement Convocation Speaker.
Among dignitaries gracing this year’s commencement in Suacoco was the President of the Association of Liberian Universities and University of Liberia President, Dr. Emmet Dennis.
