The body of an 8-year-old boy has been discovered in a community well in Duna Town community, Barnerville on the outskirt of Monrovia.
The deceased, identified as George Wilson, was found dead Wednesday, 18 November at 12:00 noon in the well. Community sources narrated to The NewDawn little George was sentby his parentsWednesday to carry phone atacommercial charging booth, when he went missing.
His slippers were found at the well, prompting his mother to have demanded a thorough search. When community residents went to fetch water from the well, the lad’s remains were discovered in the pit.
The older brother of the late George only identified as Oliver, told this paper yesterday his late brother was not in school for this academic year. Oliver added that the well is situated in an isolated area, and because the late George was not school, he became an errant boy for the residents.
The scene at the well was emotionally unbearable as the mother of the deceased fainted suddenly when she saw her son’s body. Officers of the Liberian National Police subsequently arrived on the scene and have begun an investigation into the incident.
