80 teachers get Ebola training

The Ministry of Education has trained over 80 public and private school teachers from Bain-Garr, Nimba County on Ebola awareness. Addressing reporters in Ganta recently at the start of the training, the administrative assistant from the bureau of planning, research and development at the Ministry of Education, Bill C. Pyne, said, the exercise is intended to educate teachers on the deadly Ebola virus and how to fight the disease.

He said at the end of the training, the teachers will be deployed in various communities in Nimba to carry on Ebola awareness. The County Education Officer for Nimba, Wleh T. Sailah, said the teachers will go into communities, towns and villages across the county to educate citizens on preventive tips to enable them keep safe and appeal for cooperation. The Liberian government suspended schools across the country as part of series of measures to halt the continue spread of the virus.
