The females Lone Star of Liberia take on their Senegalese counterparts today, Tuesday, October 26 at the Stade Lat-Dior in Thies Senegal, in the return leg of the first round qualifiers of the Morocco 2022 AFCON Championship.
The girls left here on Friday, Octoberย 22, 2021to honor the return match after they narrowly succumbed to Senegal 2-1 during the first leg played on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Monrovia.
Liberia needs two goals in todayโs game scheduled for 5pm to have a chance in progressing to the second round.
Speaking recentlyย to the Liberia Football Association mediaย team in Dakar, Senegal National Coach Robert Lartey thanked theย Senegalese for the warm reception accorded the Liberian side which he believes is a payback for the great hospitality given Senegal when they came toย ย Monrovia.ย
He apologized to Liberian fans for the 2-1 loss to Senegal in Monrovia while remaining optimistic of making a comeback in todayโs match.ย
Meanwhile, Lone Star Femaleย Captain Kebeh Lamine has also expressed regret for the way they conducted themselves in the first leg that led to the 2-1 home defeat in Monrovia.ย
She said they are prepared to give their all in todayโs encounter.
