Lonestar Cell MTN and MoMo host MoMo Cook-Off

Monrovia, Liberia; June 5, 2025 – Liberia’s leading mobile GSM company Lonestar Cell MTN, in partnership with MoMo, recently wrapped up its vibrant Mother’s Day celebration series with the maiden edition of the MoMo Cook-Off—a culinary competition that brought together female cooks and restaurateurs from across Liberia to showcase their skills through traditional dishes rich in flavor and culture.
The mobile telecommunication giant says on May 31, 2025, five outstanding women competed in the spirited cook-off, turning up the heat with mouthwatering Liberian meals prepared live in front of an excited crowd. All participants walked away with prizes in recognition of their creativity, passion, and presentation.
The Cook-Off, according to the company, was the final installment in a series of activities held throughout May to honor and celebrate mothers. The celebration kicked off with an internal gift-giving ceremony for female staff, acknowledging their hard work and contributions to the business.
This was followed by a joyful Mother and Child Fun Day, which provided an opportunity for families to bond through games, entertainment, and shared experiences.
The MoMo Cook-Off also served as a platform to promote digital financial inclusion, with a generous 30% discount on all purchases made via the MoMo app during the event.
This initiative reinforced the benefits of cashless transactions and encouraged broader adoption of digital payments across Liberia.
