Brewerville, Liberia; August 21, 2025 – The Vice President of Pro-Life Global, a United States-based organization, has disclosed that an estimated 73 million babies die each year worldwide due to abortion.
Speaking to students of Mother Tegeste Stewart Apostolic Pentecostal Mission School in Brewerville, Montserrado County, on August 19, 2025, Madam Melenie S. Sharp said her institution is on a mission to train young people as “foot soldiers” to spread anti-abortion awareness.
She revealed that the group has already trained about 8,000 individuals, mainly youth, who are “saving lives by preventing abortion globally.”
“For far too long, we have been told that abortion causes no harm to women. Yet we have spoken to countless women who say otherwise,” Madam Sharp noted.
According to her, many women suffer from emotional scars and physical harm as a result of abortion but are often silenced or made to feel ashamed.
She said Pro-Life Global is giving women the platform to share their stories and find healing, stressing that “coming together, we see that we are not alone.”
Madam Sharp noted that the group works through churches, communities, and even online platforms to reach women in crisis, offering them alternatives to abortion and empowering them to choose life.
She explained that through its partnership with PreBorn!, thousands of babies have already been saved worldwide.
“Our mission is simple: to save babies, offer mothers hope, and share the love of Jesus Christ. With abortion services becoming more accessible, compassionate care is needed more than ever,” she stated.
The Pro-Life Global executive further explained that the organization’s core belief is that “the fetus is a human being with a right to life, making abortion a violation of that right.”
She praised the Supreme Court of the United States for overturning the landmark abortion ruling, recalling that her institution was among several organizations that staged protests during the legal battle leading up to the decision.
Madam Sharp also criticized insurance coverage for abortion in the U.S., saying: “The status quo is that about 85% of private insurance plans currently cover abortion services. It prevents women from being able to use their own money to purchase an insurance plan that excludes abortion.”
She further blamed some parents for pressuring their children into abortion when faced with unplanned pregnancies, describing such decisions as harmful and extreme.
She commended the students for their engagement and urged them to become ambassadors of the pro-life movement in their schools and communities for the common good of society. The program in Brewerville was held under the theme: “Protecting Life and Family.”
