Acting Cabinet chair appraises MFDP

The Acting Chair of the Cabinet, Justice Minister Frank Musah Dean Jr., on Tuesday, December 6, met with the leadership of the Ministry of Finance to apprise them for the implementation of President George M. Weah’s mandate to pay all civil servants on or before December 15, 2022.

President Weah issued a directive last month to the MFDP to ensure that all salaries of civil servants for the month of December and the remaining salaries for November are fully paid by the 15th of this month.

Finance Minister Samuel D. Tweah during an appearance at the National Legislature disclosed that he was mandated by President Weah to ensure that all civil servants are paid on or before the 15th of this month their November and December salaries.

Minister Tweah also used the occasion to clarify that the central government does not owe civil servants at Ministries and Agencies “three-month arrears” as has been falsely claimed in some quarters.

At Tuesday’s fact-finding visit, Minister Dean was assured by MFDP authorities that they were up to date with payment for the Month of November, and that December will be completed by the 15th in keeping with the mandate of President Weah.

The process leading to the full payment of all civil servants for the month of December, they said, is well underway and that the President’s mandate will be fully met. -Press release
