Africare Donates Medical Sussplies

Africare Liberia has presented fifty thousand United States Dollar– worth of medical supplies to the two biggest hospitals in Bong County. Presenting the materials to the Phebe and C.B Dumber Hospitals last weekend, Africare Country Director Ernest Gaie said the intervention of his institution was intended to capacitated the hospitals during this Ebola crisis in the country.

Mr. Gaie expressed the hope that the materials provided will assist the health institutions as they strive during this Ebola outbreak to provide health services to ordinary citizens. He disclosed that another consignment of medical supplies was expected to be in the country from the United States in the coming weeks, to be provided to the health facilities.

The Africare Liberia Country Director extended gratitude to Direct Relief in the United States of America for making the supplies available to his entity. He said Direct Relief  air-lifted the supplies, spending about half a million United States Dollars. Mr. Gaie said there were plans to extend similar donation to other health facilities in the county.

Receiving the supplies at their respective institutions, the Medical Directors of the Phebeand C. B. Dunbar Hospitals, Dr. Jefferson Sibleh and Dr. OlbertDolo commended Africare for the medical supplies. Dr. Sibleh and Dr. Dolo stressed the need for the empowerment of health facilities, especially the two biggest health institutions in the county, describing the donation as a big boost to their jobs.
