Albino Society honors Press Secretary

The Liberian Abinos Society has presented certificate of honor to Presidential Press Secretary Jerolinmek M. Piah for his years of immense contributions to the association.

Presenting the certificate on behalf of the Albinos to Mr. Piah at his Ministry of Foreign Affairs office in Monrovia, Friday, April 17, the Program Committee Head, Madam Ruth J. Tulay, recounted the honoree’s unbending support from the formation stage of the association.

Madam Tulay said when Abinos were “nobody” and struggling to establish the Albino organization, Mr. Piah stood by them to ensure that their voices were heard on Radios and Television Stations.

She additionally said Mr. Piah created the opportunity and ensured that the Albinos met President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf and whoever they wished to meet, emphasizing that in line with the old adage, they were giving Mr. Piah his flowers while still alive.

Madam Tulay praised and thanked Mr. Piah for his work and contribution towards the Albino Society here, saying he deserved their honor.

Concluding, she noted that the President, staff and members of the Albino Society had come to his office to give him the certificate as symbol of honor in recognition of his years of support.

Receiving the certificate, Presidential Press Secretary  Piah thanked the Albino Society for the recognition given him, noting that the honor given him would further motivate him to do more for other disadvantaged people of the Liberian society.

He said when people do things based on their conviction to help others; they do not anticipate pay or recognition in return from the beneficiaries.

However, he accepted the certificate and honor from the Albinos, saying people who have been helped would of course want to say thanks for the role others have played.
