Amputees Prepare For Tour

The Amputee Football Federation of Liberia (AFFEL) has begun preparation here for a tour of two counties beginning 25 April. The two counties are Bong and Margibi in preparation for an upcoming county meet in Monrovia.

Speaking to this paper, the president of the AFFEL Mr. Cooper M. Gotten said the assessment team will spend two days in each county. He said during the exercise, the federation will appeal to authorities of the both counties to help them in planning the county meet.

He disclosed that a total of 13 players and five officials will make the tour, beginning with Margibi County to be followed by Bomi, Grand Cape Mount and Gran Bassa counties, respectively. He said the objective of the tour is to enable other amputees in the 15 counties to benefit from the Federation.

The Amputee National League will soon start at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Monrovia with six teams in the league. The teams are Lass, Might Confidants, Survivor, Monrovia Giants and Young Inviters.
