Another Dead in Matadi

Barely a day after a 9-year-old girl drowned in an open septic tank, while playing  in the Old Matadi Community in Fiamah, Sinkor suburb of Monrovia, a 17-month old baby Tuesday became the second victim of the obvious death trap in that community.

The mother of little George Roberts, Ma Musu Fofana explained in tears that while cooking, she left her baby outdoor and went in to get a bowl, but upon return, the child has conspicuously disappeared in the yard.

“I felt that someone might have taken him to play with, but when I asked all my neighbors I suspected, I never found him there,” she noted. Musu continued that she later spotted her son lying dead in the septic tank, something she described as very suspicious.

The same community was engulfed in grieve Monday when a nine-year-old girl Sarah Fofana was found dead in the identical  septic tank that has been left partially covered.

Four kids, Kebbeh Sarwolo, 6; Nancy Samuwa, 6; Sheriff Fofana 3, and Sarah Amelia Fofana 9, apparently left unattended to by their respective parents Monday drowned in the septic tank filled with water, leaving one dead, while three were rescued subsequently following a search in the community.
