Another death at Capitol Building

Rep. Fofi Sahr Baimba NDDeath has struck the Liberian Legislature again this time in the House of Representatives, taking away Lofa County District #2 Representative, Fofi Sahr Baimba. He was pronounced dead Sunday, September 13, at the John F. Kennedy Medical Center in Monrovia.

Family and health sources said Representative Baimba died of hypotension (high blood pressure) following a brief illness.  The former lawmaker directly represented the people of Vaihun and Foya Districts. His death has created a vacuum in the House that needs to be occupied thru a by-election that would be announced by the National Elections Commission.

Members of the House of Representatives led by Speaker Alex Tyler and Deputy Speaker Hans Barchue gathered Sunday at the JFK hospital following news of the death of their colleague to pay respect and sympathize with the bereaved family.

Meanwhile, the remains of the late Rep. Baimba have been deposited at the Samuel Striker Funeral parlous in Sinkor, pending burial.
