April Association donates to the blind

A local charity and social organization called April Association Liberia has made donation of food and non-food items to the Children of the School for the Blind in Brewerville, Virginia, outside Monrovia.

Items donated recently include rice, oil, soap, used clothes, and bags, among others. April Association was founded in February 2017 with the aim of giving back to the society, especially the less fortunate.

The group is comprised of people born in the month of April. According to it’s president Joseph S. Blango, Jr., the donation is the organization’s way of identifying with the blind during this festive season.

He says his organization considers visually impaired people important and part of the society. Mr. Blango puts the budget of the donation to over one hundred thousand Liberian dollars.

Accepting the donation on behalf of the Children of the School of the Blind, one of the administrators at the institution Mariam thanked the group for the kind gesture and called on other organizations to emulate the example of the April Association Liberia.

She adds that the donation will be used for the intended purpose.
