Armed Gangs Arrested

At least five armed gangsters- Constance Jallah, Abraham Dean, Moses Holder, Jerry Johnson and Junior Davies were reported arrested by Police last weekend in the Paynesville, Old Road and Congo Town Communities respectively.

Liberia National Police (LNP) Spokesman George Bardue said in a release issued in Monrovia Sunday that the suspects were arrested with three single barrel guns, knives and a 45- Pistol allegedly in their possession.

Bardue said the five armed suspects are among armed robbers that allegedly shot a lady recently at the Congo Town Road and escaped the scene. But the police spokesman said the rest of the gangsters are on the run.

Bardue is quoted in the release as saying that the five suspected armed robbers were arrested at different locations in Monrovia. He said police investigators gathered that the five suspects are members of a notorious group controlling gangsters in Paynesville, Old Road and Congo Town.

Notwithstanding, the suspects are said to be under police custody at LNP Central Headquarters on Capitol Hill undergoing investigation. Bardue said it has been established that the suspects mainly take their arm robbery missions to Paynesville, Old Road and Congo Town.
