Armed Robbers Arrested In Kakata

Police on Wednesday arrested at least two suspected armed robbers with one AK-47 raffle charged with 27 rounds in Kakata, Margibi County. Liberia National Police (LNP) Spokesman George Bardue said officers in Kakata made the arrest following series of armed robberies in the city.

Suspects Nyemah Gbollie, (18) and Tarrious George, (36) were arrested late Wednesday, February 15, 2012, Bardue said. He reported that the suspects fired one round before their arrest, saying “it did not stop the police from arresting them”.

He said the suspects are currently being investigated at the Police Headquarters in Monrovia. Bardue recalled that in recent months, an armed robbery incident occurred at a gas station in Kakata in which its owner was victimized.

“…There have been series of armed robberies in Kakata and surrounding towns in Margibi County,” he said.
