The Australian High Commissioner/Ambassador to Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Ivory Coast has ended a one- day visit to the Farmer Support Center in Gbarnga, Bong County.
The Farmer Support Center or VOSIEDA is a local Farming group in Gbarnga,established to train farmers with skills in different areas of farming with support from the Australian Government.
The Australian Ambassador’s visit was intended to assess the project being sponsored by the Government of Australia, as well as solicit the opinions of stakeholders on other areas for intervention.
In her message to the management and staff of the Farmers Support Center or VOSIEDA, Ambassador Joanna Adamson lauded the group for utilizing funds from the Government and people of Australia, indicating that with the level of work the group has done in the county, she was very optimistic that her Country will continue to support Agriculture ventures in Liberia.
Ambassador Adamson admonished the group to remain steadfast in its endeavors to make Liberia self-reliant and productive in the Food and Agriculture.
The Farmers Support Center or VOSIEDA is currently training over 5o local farmers – mostly women, in different areas of farming.
