Australian government supports farmers in Bong

Australia High Commissioner to Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Ivory Coast has ended a one-day visit to the Farmer Support Center in Gbarnga, Bong County.

The center is a local farming group geared at training farmers in various skills with support from the Australian government. Ambassador Joanna Adamson’s visit was intended to assess the project her government is sponsoring and also solicit opinions of stakeholders on other areas that need interventions.

In her message to the management and staff of the Farmers Support Center or VOSIEDA, Ambassador Adamson lauded the group for utilizing funding being provided by the Government and People of Australia.

The Australian envoy said with the level of work the group has done in the county, she is very optimistic that her country will continue to support Agriculture ventures in Liberia.
She admonished the group to remain steadfast in its endeavors to making Liberia self-reliant and productive in food and agriculture.
