AYP graduates 64 youth’s in computer literacy program

The Advancing Youth Project or AYP in Sanniquellie, over the weekend graduated 64 youths, from a Computer Literacy training Program with supports from the United States Agency for International Development or USAID.

According to the AYP County Alliance Coordinator, Austin S. Gray, the four months computer training program highlighted basic computer softwareskills- Microsoft office, excel, publisher and PowerPoint presentation.

Mr. Gray added that the youths were taught on work based learning opportunities and link to skills and entrepreneur training.  Austin Gray also disclosed that about 2616 youths are expected to benefit from the project in Nimba County in various areas including soap making, food preservation and bees keeping.

The program was implemented in close collaboration with the Ministry of Education and community based organizations to build the capacities of youths to manage a system that provides them with knowledge and skills that they need to succeed.

The program is targeting 16000 youths in seven electoral districts in Liberia. –Edited by Othello B. Garblah
