BCC Names Acting President

The Bomi Community College or BCC has named an Acting President. He is Dr. John Kallon of Harvard University, United States.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the College, Reverend Kortu Brown, made the disclosure on Tuesday, 12 January, during an induction ceremony held in Tubmanburg, Bomi County.

According to Chairman Brown, the Board took the decision to have the Institution urgently re-opened for the first semester of academic 2010, which begins February.

He noted further, that the appointment of President for the BCC was also intended to meet minimum standards set by the National Commission on Higher Education for terminal degree holders to form part of the College staff.

The Board then tasked the College’s Acting President with the responsibilities of formulating policies and developing programmes in the interest of the College.

Responding to his preferment, Dr. Kallon assured the Bomi Community College and the people of Bomi County of his commitment, promising to bring about better and quality education for every Liberian of the institution.
