BCCU seek’s partnership with NEC

The Bong County Citizens Union (BCCU) – a local Non-Governmental Organization that engages in civic education and sensitization is appealing to the National Elections Commission to include it in the 2017 Civic Education exercise.

BCCU seeks

The appeal was made over the weekend by the Chairman of the organization Mr. Othello F. Dolo, when he spoke with reporters in Paynesville City, suburb of Monrovia. Dolo said BCCU, which was established in 2002, has been actively engaged and providing civic education and sensitization in Bong, educating citizens on wide range of national undertakings.

He disclosed that the organization provided civic education and sensitization to hundreds of citizens in the county during the heat of the Ebola crisis, which greatly helped in reducing infection rate among citizens.

The BCCU boss assures NEC of its readiness to take Civic Education to all parts of the county to ensure citizens get to understand their duties and responsibilities relative to the pending electoral process.

Meanwhile, BCCU is presently involved with several projects, including cassava processing and rice farming in Grand Cape Mount and Bomi Counties, and mining activity in Gbarpolu County, respectively in western Liberia.
