BCTC to transfer agriculture department

The Administration of the Bong County Technical College has announced plan to relocate the Agricultural Department of the college in July of this year.

Speaking recently during the Inaugural Program of the Student Leadership of the institution, BCTC`s President Dr. Roland Massaquoi said the administration decision was trigged by the lack of practical site for students studying agriculture at the school.

Dr. Massaquoi averred that the school`s administration has embarked on the purchasing of a land space behind Kplalimue in Electoral District Two for the repositioning of the college if it`s students are to obtain technical knowledge in their study.

He said BCTC being a Technical College, it was important that those students who will graduate from the institution acquire both theoretical and practical knowledge in their various field of studies.
The BCTC`s President further disclosed that plans are in pipeline to transfer the Nursing and Health Science Programs of the college to the Lofa Road in Gbarnga.

“We want to have conducive learning for our students especially those of whom studies are more pritical so that’s why we have concluded plans to transfer the agriculture department of the College to Bong County electoral District 2. He adds.

In a related development, Dr. Roland Massaquoi said he has commenced a vigorous monitoring process of the credentials and practical skills of various lecturers of the college aimed at eliminating those unqualified professors in the school.
