Big Inauguration Championship Saturday

The Ministry of Youth and Sports has announced  that the January 14th Inauguration championship tourney that was cancelled due to security reason is now rescheduled for this Saturday, January 21st at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Monrovia.

The tournament will bring together four kickball and football teams to vie for the championship. Participating teams include former Liberian international Senior Pro, national County Meet Kickball and Football Champion Margibi County, and Liberia Kickball Federation, among others

Acting Assistant Youth and Sports Minister Murvee Gray, told reporters that it is now safe and suitable for the games to be played than last week when many activities unfolded in the country, including the inauguration of President Sirleaf and Vice President Boakai.

The one-day sporting event is expected to bring together Liberians from all walks of life in a spirit of national reconciliation.

According to the official fixture, the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, current kickball Champion of the Inter Ministerial and Agency League will take on the Inter Ministerial and Agency League Kickball All-Star team in game one, while Margibi County will face the Liberia Kickball Federation All-Star Kickball team in game two.

The football action of the day will start with Lone Star Under-20 Football delegation facing County Meet Champion Margibi County, while Senior Pro will feature James Debbah, Kelvin Sebwe, Frank Seator, Thomas Kojo, and others against LFA All-Star.

The 1995 FIFA Footballer of the Year George Oppong Weah, is expected to be in the line-up with his former colleagues on Saturday during Senior Pro and the Liberia Football Association All-Star for the last game of the tournament.
