Big transformation at RIA

The Management of the Liberia Airport Authority is currently involved in the construction of a brand new 5070m2 terminal building including supporting facilities such as power substation, pump station and sewage treatment station at the Roberts International Airport (RIA) in Margibi County.

The construction is rapidly transforming the nation’s only international airport to modern standards, bringing it on par with airports in the subregion, on the continent and outside Africa.

The project overall team comprises the Liberia Airport Authority (LAA), Ministry of Public Works (MPW), Ministry of Finance & Development Planning (MFDP), Project Management – Project Implementation Unit (PIU), Site Supervision – WSP Africa Group (WSP) and China Habour Engineering Company Ltd. (CHEC)

The team continues to conjoin expertise in managing and executing the works under the “One Team One Goal” approach. On June 13, 2018 a three-man Liberian government delegation, headed by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Liberia Airport Authority, Bishop John Allen Klayee, departed the country for the Peoples’ Republic of China to tour and inspect furniture and equipment of the New Passenger Terminal of the Roberts International Airport.

As head of delegation, Bishop Klayee was accompanied by the Chief Financial Officer of the LAA, George D. Yuoh and Terminal/Runway Projects Implementation Manager, Anthony Togba. Following the tour and inspection, the delegation returned to Liberia on June 27, 2018.
