The national office of a local Liberian blind organization, Hope In God Association of the Blind (HIGAB) is seeking partnership with Swedish and Danish governments to provide partnership support to physically challenged persons that HIGAB is providing care for.
The disclosure was contained in a press release dated 4 October under the signature of HIGAB president Johnson K. Dorbor.The press statement says the organization which runs a blind school and agriculture projects in Gbarpolu and other counties is in dire need of partners for assistance.
According to the release, the association is challenged in constructing two annexes to its school for blind students.HIGAB reveals that its present school building can no longer take in other blind and physically challenged persons due to lack of space.
Additionally, HIGAB president Mr. Dorbor notes that the group is in need of agricultural tools and materials to continue with its cassava and other projects in the country.Meanwhile, HIGAB has appointed a four member interim leadership to steer the affairs of the Gbarpolu Office of the Association, pending general elections.
Members of HIGAB Gbarpolu Office are expected to go to elections on 25 November 2018 as a result of the expiration of the tenure of the past leadership.Those appointed include Mr. Richard Kortu, Chairman; Madam Korbu Howard, Vice Coordinator; Madam Wata Yean, Secretary General; and Mr. Abraham Massaquoi, Treasure.
