The chairman of a Boakai support bloc at the Liberian Senate, Bong County Sen. Henry Yallah says a massive stakeholder forum will be held in Bong County in May to spot out a potential running mate to the ruling Unity Party standard bearer Vice President Joseph Nyumah Boakai.
Already, Sen. Yallah says a Boakai support bloc has been established at the Liberian Senate comprising of 21 potential senators mostly from southeastern Liberia to support the presidential bid of Mr. Baokai.
The NewDawn’s Bong County correspondent says the chairman of the group which claims majority bloc has announced that they are in full gear to support VP Boakai to the Presidency comes October.
Our correspondent says the disclosure was made in an interview in Bong County on Sunday, 9 April by Bloc Chairman Senator Yallah. Sen. Yallah says as Chairman of the Senate’s “majority bloc”, he will ensure that massive preparations are done to support VP Boakai in the elections.
According to the Bong County Senator, the pro – VP Senators have known Amb. Boakai for years as President of the Liberian Senate, claiming that they see no need to support another presidential aspirant above the vice president.
