Boima Kamara-Another Weeks surfaces at CBL

President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has appointed Mr. Boima Kamara as her new Finance Minister succeeding Mr. Amara Konneh; while another member of the Weeks family Milton Weeks has been appointed at Central Bank, as Executive Governor bringing the total number of Weeks in the Ellen led Government to four. Weeks number four, succeeds presidential hopeful Dr. Mills Jones.

These new appointments are part of her latest shakeup in top government positions after some of her officials either resign for new jobs, or served their full terms and subsequently departed offices. In a release dated April 15, 2016, the Executive Mansion said the additional appointments in government affected the Ministries of Finance and Development Planning, Foreign Affairs, Internal Affairs, Central Bank of Liberia, General Auditing Commission and the Independent National Commission on Human Rights.

President Sirleaf appointed Mr. Kolli Tamba and Mrs. Elsie Dossen Badio as board members at the Central Bank of Liberia or CBL; while saying Dr. James Kollie who was deputy minister to Mr. Amara Konneh, would be taking a new position soon.

At the Independent National Commission on Human Rights, President Sirleaf appointed Atty. oretha Snyder Davis as commissioner and reappointed Atty. James Torh as commissioner.  Rev. Jervis Witherspoon who has been working here as President Sirleaf’s spiritual advisor, has now been appointed Liberia’s new Chief of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, replacing Mr. Charles Allen who goes into diplomatic service.
Still at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, she has appointed Mr. Emmanuel Munyeneh as assistant minister for international cooperation.

She has finally appointed Mr. Adam Sheriff as Deputy Auditor General – Assurance Quality at the General Auditing Commission or GAC; while at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, she has also appointed Madam Sara K. Kullie as Mayor of the City of Voinjama, Lofa County.
