Bong County Superintendent Selena Posen- Mappy has assured executives of Last Well- a Christian philanthropic organization engaged in the construction of wells, of her administration’s commitment to providing one hundred thousand US Dollars to the construction of over five hundred water wells in the county.

Superintendent Mappy – excited about the level of investment to be made by the Last Well, also expressed the county administration’s preparedness in ensuring that ordinary citizens benefit from safe drinking water.

Superintendent Mappy said, in no way officials of the County will sit and allow such golden opportunity to pass by without making any contribution, saying Bong County authorities would contribute one-hundred thousand Untied States Dollars to the construction and rehabilitation of hand pumps in the County.

Last Well Dr. Tor Philips, during a courtesy visit to Superintendent’s Office at the Gbarnga Administration Building last weekend, commended officials of Bong County and national authorities for what he referred to as ‘a wonderful start.’

Dr. Philips said the aim of this organization is to ensure that safe drinking water is provided to ordinary citizens across the County, indicating that the process of providing safe drinking water was already being done through Team Work Africa – a local NGO that has been contracted.

He also applauded the national General Secretary of the Liberian Young Men Christian Association, Edward Gboe, for his work to achieving their dreams. He disclosed that Last Well was in Liberia based on a friendship he had established with Mr. Gboe. Last Well operates from Texas in the United States of America.
