Bong Service Center clarifies

The Coordinator of the Bong County Service Center has quickly clarified that services at the center are being provided in full. Mr. Jefferson Gbayan’s comment comes in the wake of huge public criticisms that some services, especially the provision of driver licenses, were not being provided at the Service Center.

It continues to be speculated that since President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf was issued driver license when she dedicated the center, driver licenses are yet to be given to ordinary citizens seeking the service.

He told our Bong County correspondent that the twenty-one services at the center to be provided are all on active course, describing public speculations as erroneous. He said since the dedication of the Service Center, it continues to ensure that the government’s idea of taking service delivery to its citizens in rural Liberia was adequately executed, adding that documents are collected from drivers and sent to the Ministry of Transport in Monrovia for processing and returned for delivery.

He said this is because the software for processing and completing licenses are yet to be installed. According to him, the service Center will remain vibrant under his watch as coordinator and further encouraged the public to seek proper information from his office when the need arises, instead of giving ears to speculations.
