Bong youth appeal to Supreme Court

Several youths of Bong County Electoral District 4 have launched an appeal to the Justices of the Supreme Court of Liberia to speedily look into the case concerning Representative – elect Robert Flomo Womba whose victory is being challenged.

The youth told the NewDawn’s Bong County correspondent recently that the delay in certificating Mr. Womba is allegedly bringing the district under hostage.

While appealing to the Court, the head of the youth Prince Dekermue said they stage a demonstration before the court next week if the matter is not quickly looked into.

After the October 10 elections, second and third places finishers Lester Paye and Madam Susannah Lorpu Mator took a complaint to the National Elections Commission, alleging irregularities and fraud.

The NEC conducted a recount in several polling centers as a result of the allegation, but Madam Mator is said to have boycotted the process. The recount was said to have favored Mr. Wombah, but Madam Mator forwarded the complaint to the Supreme Court requesting for a rerun of the entire election in district #4 be conducted.
