Breaking news Doctors at JFK to protest

-As health workers exposed to COVID-19 told to go home

Doctors at the John F. Kennedy Medical Center are planning a protest following the hospitals mishandling of the coronavirus outbreak at the health facility which has exposed several health workers and patients to the virus.

The Government referral hospital on Thursday April 16 shut down its Liberian – Japanese Friendship Maternity Hospital for 48 hours after two maternity health workers tested positivesaying, it took the measures to disinfect the facility.

The virus is said to have spread among health workers at the facility after a staff who knew that she was exposed to COVID-19 and had tested positive on Monday, April 13, refused to inform her colleagues or the hospital administration but rather show up at the hospital for care on Wednesday, April 15, (she is pregnant) thereby putting the rest of the staffs on duties, the patients and their relatives at the hospital at increased risks of contracting COVID-19.

As if that was not enough this paper also gathered that the JFK Administration or its Chief Medical Officerasked the staffs, who got exposed to COVID-19 why on duties in the hospital and had not gone home yet since the exposure, to leave the hospital and go to their houses and self-isolate without considering the families of those staffs. More details later.

The staff in question, had earlier been told to go home after showing up to be tested at the SKD drive thru testing center, without being held in quarantine.
