Business Motivation– Part 4

The most important task within the management of your business is that of understanding the needs and wants of your customers and potential customers and adopting your business to deliver the right goods and services more effectively and efficiently than your competitors. You will need to understand what the customer needs and at the same time, your business operational procedure must be designed in such a way that this can be easily met. If this is done I can assure you that you are a winner already.

There are people who have had successes and people who have become failures and there are of course winners and losers in business. You will certainly loose in business when you don’t have all the facts, the expertise and the knowhow. You win when you take the steps necessary to stop failing in business.

You will never win or succeed in any business unless you really believe in that business. You must believe in the product you are promoting. You must also have product knowledge. You must take the time and make the effort to know your product. It may be boring or even seem unnecessary. You may be anxious to sell your products, pocket the profit, and get on with life. But winners in Business do not do it that way.

Many who are successful in business today were simply ex-losers who got tired of failure. Winning doesn’t start around you it begins inside you. What happens in your mind will happen in time. Mind management is the first priority for the one who wants to become a winner whether in business or in whatever area of life.

Your success in business depends on your willingness to help someone solve their problem. Successful business people are simply problem solvers. You have to be a problem solver. You will need to have something others need. Take an inventory of yourself. Do you have something to offer someone? What do you enjoy doing? What would you attempt to do if you knew it was impossible to fail?

Friend, I want you to know that “no simply means to ask again.”Rejection is not fatal. It is merely someone’s opinion. To succeed in business you will have to know your worth and know your product. Be willing to experience a season of pain to create a future of gain. “Your goals and dreams last longer than rejection”. Move beyond your scars. Not everyone will celebrate you. Not everyone will welcome your future. Someone needs what you have. Your contribution is an absolute necessity for their success.

Friend, find those who need you and what you have to offer. Build your life around that contribution. Know this, whatever you have been given is what someone needs.

To become a winner in business you must understand timing. There is a right time to approach people. There is a time to ask and there is time to be silent. There is a time to make presentations to people. There is a time to wait. People are in different seasons of their lives. Moods change. Circumstances affect their decision. Be sensitive to this. Your success in life or business depends on timing. Don’t forget it! Whether you are selling to a customer or sitting at the discussion table with your boss, remain sensitive. Observe. Watch. Listen to the flow of information and what is going on.

To become a winner in business you will have to believe in the business you are doing. Your attitude is always sensed. Don’t expect to succeed unless you are thoroughly informed about your product. Spent a considerable amount of time cultivating an awareness of your business and spent time each day as an investment in becoming informed. Use your product. Stop getting yourself busy trying to “make money” that you really have not developed a powerful understanding and confidence in what you are doing. Information breeds’ confidence.

Let us take a look at this scenario. A student who studies hard is prepared for his exams and is confident he will pass his exams, but a student who does not study his lessons is not prepared and is not confident he will pass his exams. This is true and so it is with business.

You may be shy and even feel inadequate, but you will not succeed in life and in business unless you are connected to people. Move toward neighbors as well as members of your family. Make that call and write that brief note to that closed friend. Be accessible. Friend, you will never possess what you are unwilling to pursue. Go to the people on the streets. Go to the out of the way places. Go everywhere. You must be reachable if you want to succeed in business. Winners in business are reachers. They dread rejection, but they believe their goal is worth it. Go to where people are because your dream is connected to people. As lawyers need clients so also you need customers.

To become a success in business you have to risk rejection. This is one reason most great salespeople say that knowing that fourteen out of fifteen people will say no merely inspires them to hurry and make their presentations to as many as possible, to reach that one who will accept. Learn how to handle rejection if want to be a good salesman. Leave that executive office. Climb out of your four-runner! Make that call and write the letter. Sooner or later you will succeed.

Successful people are people who plan. They are good planners. Planning is the starting point for any dream or goal that you possess. Take time out to plan because the secret of your future is hidden in your daily routine. Make a list of things to do every day of your life. Write out your plan clearly on a sheet of paper. Successes are usually scheduled events. Failures are not. Planning is tedious. It is demanding, and exhausting. Planning is really never fun. But, sometimes you have to do something you hate to create something you love. In most cases people avoid planning because it is time consuming. Have a plan and I suggest if you do not have one then take a look at the ants.
