BYC II Lose to Azam FC of Tanzania

Barrack Young Controllers (BYC II) Sunday went down to Azam FC of Tanzania 2-1 at the Antoine Tubman Stadium in the CAF knock out stage round two. BYC II made it to the second round knock-out stage after eliminating FC Johannes of Sierra Leone on a 1-0 aggregate at the round one stage.

BYC II played with a 4-3-3 system, and got her only goal of the game in the 45min of the first half from Junior Barshall. The Tanzanians with five foreign based players scored her two goals in the second half of the game, with the equalizer coming from Humphrey Ochieveny Mielo in the 53min, while 74 min substitute Saf Adala got the winner in the 84min.

Azam FC is one of the best premier teams in Tanzania. The team won her last match in the current competition 5-0. To qualify from this round BYCII will have to score more than two goals in the return match.

Though Coach Lartey said the return leg will be highly difficult, he assured supporters of BYC II and football fans in Liberia that  the team still stand a chance of making it to the next round of the competition.

“You saw the way we played, we created some brilliant chances, but we could not just score, we held the match to the 53 minutes before conceding  goals from the other team.
