BYC To Meet Kotoko in Ghana

Liberia’s Football Association champions, Barrack Young Controllers or BYC1 will meet their Ghanaian counterpart Kotoko in the kick-off of the Confederation of African Football champions’ league in Ghana. The draw that was held in Marrakech, Morocco on Monday put BYC1 in the league for the first time against the champions of Ghana in their home.

The first game is scheduled for 9 February, 2014 at the Baba Yara Sport Stadium in Ghana; while return leg will be played in Monrovia on 16 February 2014. After winning all the cups in one league season, the blue boys will go outside of the country to partake for the first time in the champion league.

Barrack Young Controllers, who for over the last ten years went to the second rounds of the Confederation of African Football or CAF, will now look up to their first team – BYC1 to go from where they stopped in the 2013 champions league.

Asante Kotoko, who also has not qualified for some time in this champion league, is back with calls from fans to do their best and make it to the top. They are likely to feature three Brazilian against BYC1 of Liberia.

Meanwhile, the Red Lion of Liberia will for the first time take part in the CAF league to host the champion’s team of Guinea Bissau (EstrelaCantanhez). Red Lions, down on the local table here, will represent Liberia in the CAF knockout tournament.
