CDC wants Sen. Coleman probed

The political leader of the Congress for Democratic Change or CDC, Senator George MannahWeah has requested the grievance and ethics committee of the party to probe the involvement of Grand Kru County Senator Dr. Peter Coleman in the John F. Kennedy Medical Center financial scandal.

“Senator Weah has communicated with the leadership of the Congress for Democratic Change to allow its grievance and ethics committee to examine and seek clarification from Senator Peter Coleman, who is a partisan of the CDC legislative caucus, on his monthly receipt of professional services fees from the administration of John F. Kennedy Medical Center,” a communication under the signature of Chief of Office Staff to Senator Weah said.

It said upon the return of Senator Weah, he will receive the report and look into recommendations that may come up. The former Communication Director of the JFK Medical Center, Mr. DayueGoah, recently alleged on a local radio station that the administration of the hospital is key factor responsible for its underperformance.

According to Goah, the hospital revealed the ‘neglect’ that led to the death of little Shaki Kamara, who died from a gunshot wound inflicted by an officer of the Armed Forces of Liberia during Ebola-related quarantine of West Point in 2014.

He further alleged that administration headed by the General Administrator and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Wvannie Scott-Macdonald treat patients who are not high government officials or that are within the inner cycle of President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf led government with less attention, and that the administration lives on bribery.

Due to the widespread reports of poor performance by nurses and doctors at the John F. Kennedy Hospital, which some victims say is contributing to mysterious deaths at the hospital, the Legislature has begun an investigation.

Senator Coleman has since admitted to receiving monthly cash from the administration of JFK but the money is forprofessional services rendered the hospital.
