CDC warns Facebook officials

The chairman of Liberia’s ruling party Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), Mr. Mulbah is warning appointed officials that are allegedly engaged in Facebooking and reneging on their duties.

“This is time for our partisans who are given the opportunity to serve alongside the president to dedicate their time in moving the country forward,” Mr. Morlu said over the weekend.

During Central Bank Governor Mr. Nathaniel Patray’s visit at the CDC headquarters over the weekend, Mr. Morlu expressed observations that some appointed officials are reportedly reneging on their respective duties and are instead engaged into playing on social media.

Though Mr. Morlu spoke in general without naming any appointee, some members of the public have been criticising some of these officials here for their frequent use of social media to respond to every comment against the government.

But Mr. Morlu warns that the CDC will not relent to take drastic action against its partisans who will be engaged in such practice.He says the CDC through its National Executive Committee will not relent in taking actions, noting that it “will not joke with partisans who will abandon their duty and live on Facebook.”

Meanwhile, the CDC Chair encourages other partisans who have not had the opportunity to be appointed to be patient and wait.Mr. Morlu assures that his leadership is working to ensure that qualified and competent people will be incorporated gradually.
