Coach Wleh On the Search

The head coach of Premiership outfit Jubilee FC, William Lartey Wleh has expressed satisfaction about his club’s per-season preparations despite the delay in listing players for the season.

According to coach Lartey the club currently has several players on tryout for selection to replace the eight players who left for international contracts. Winger Stanley Whitfield signed in Israel with Hapoel Herzliya, while Desmond Richards is now with Carlstad United BK in Sweden.

Jubilee FC left-back Teloe Moore plays for a 2nd division Vietnam club, while Alfred Gibson, Adolphus Hutchins and others are currently honoring tryouts in Nigeria and elsewhere in West Africa.

“We are looking for strikers and attacking midfielders because the players who left us are mostly offensive workers; we also have a solid defense, but will bring on a few new legs as back-up,” Coach Wleh explained.

He was one the twenty-five Liberian coaches who recently benefitted from a FIFA coaching seminar in Monrovia under the auspices of the FIFA development programs.
“We learned a lot of new formations and tactics from the sessions, and things are working out well for me and the club,” Lartey narrated.

Black Star Targets Barrolle Striker

Liberia Black Star is reported to be on the hunt for Mighty Barrolle’s Harris Jimmie for the coming season. Jimmie is expected to buttress the attack of Black Star during the new season, but both clubs are yet to confirm the deal.

Black Star was relegated at the end of last season.  The club has an intern leadership until a new management can be put into office. The team is currently running its pre-season and tryout sessions in Zumah Town  monitored by Kelvin Sebwe and Thomas Kojo, both deputy coaches of the Lone Star.
