The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) will on Tuesday, January 26, begin nationwide general market inspection from 10 AM to 4:00PM daily.

The nationwide general market inspection, expected to be concluded on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, is being undertaken to remove all unwholesome products from the Liberian market and as well regulate pricing of commodities throughout the country.

According to a press release, the exercise will focus on businesses engaged in fresh and frozen food items, rice, flour, starches, petroleum products and automotive materials.
Other areas of focus include beverages, dairy and second-hand products, electrical, electronics and building materials.

At the same time, the Division of Industrial Development and Compliance Support at the Ministry will conduct compliance audit along with the Inspectorate Division during the inspection exercise.

The Ministry is therefore calling on the general public and the business community to cooperate, considering the importance of the inspection exercise. Press Release
