Commissioner disgusted with Health Officer

The Commissioner of Cinta Township in Margibi County Commissioner has expressed serious disenchantment in the Kakata District Heath Officer for poor handling of Ebola related cases in Bulorquelleh town.

Commissioner William B.S. Julye noted that following several deaths in the area characterized by victims showing symptoms of Ebola, the Margibi County Health Team, which Larry Boahndao is a member, visited the town with the aim of investigating circumstances that led to the series of deaths.

Mr. Boahndao told the residents that he was ready to take specimen of residents to conduct tests. But according to Commissioner Julye, since over two weeks, the residents are still asking him about the DHO and expressing disappointment in him.

He explained that Mr. Boahndao has also gone as far as getting on radio, announcing that he has taken specimen from residents of the town, but Commissioner Julye insists that he  wants to see those residents whose specimen were taken by the DHO.

The Cinta Township boss noted that Mr. Boahndao may have fooled the residents, knowing he was not prepared to conduct test on them. The Commissioner said it is necessary to conduct test for residents of the township because scaring deaths have occurred in the area suspiciously.

Julye, who said that he is not health personnel to determine whether residents are dying of Ebola, insists that the district health team should go in the township to conduct Ebola test in order to establish the actual cause of the many deaths in Bulorquelleh.

It may be recalled that last weekend, Kakata District Health Officer, Larry Boahndao, reaffirmed at the Stanford Bridge Intellectual Ataye Forum at German Camp Junction in Margibi that he has taken specimen of several residents of the town for testing and results would be out soon to establish the cause of deaths.
